About Me

Hi, I’m Jinquan Zhao. I grew up in China and spent four years of high school in the United States. Moving to a different country was a big change for me, but it also became an important part of my growth. During those years, I started using photography to record school life, trips, friends, sports and small everyday moments that I did not want to forget.

I am now a design student at the University of Melbourne. Outside of studying, I enjoy photography, travelling, sport and playing video games. Games are another reason I became interested in visual design and interaction, especially how colour, layout and movement can guide people through an experience.

Four Years, Four Seasons is a personal archive of my high-school experience. Each season represents one stage of those four years, from arriving in a new environment to becoming more independent and eventually graduating. I created this website to look back on that time and share some of the memories that shaped who I am today.
